DESCRIPTION:Ann DuHamel\, associate professor of music and head of keyboard studies at UMN Morris\, will launch a multi-day music series focused on climate change.   Composers in more than 35 countries sent DuHamel more than 170 pieces of music\, including movements and larger sets – all together 316 individual pieces of music. \nPrayers for a Feverish Planet will be a multi-day musical series. DESCRIPTION:University of Minnesota Morris Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Liberal Arts\, Dr. José Lezcano will present a concert  featuring his compositions\, performed in collaboration with UMN Morris faculty performers Ann DuHamel (piano); Ming Hui-Lin (flute); Denise Odello (Cor anglais); Jarod Bendele (percussion); and Laura Wiebe (soprano). \nCurrently\, as Professor Emeritus and Lecturer in Music at Keene State College\, José teaches and coordinates the guitar program\, and courses in Latin American music.  He was honored by the Keene Sentinel for his contributions to the Arts in the Monadnock Region with a 2016 Ewing Award\, and since 2018 serves as an elected member of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts\, where he advocates for New Hampshire’s creative communities.

DESCRIPTION:Join RFC instructors Ingrid\, Suzie & Shadow for a Spin Set up + Technique class in the RFC gym! These classes are FREE & we are offering two different class options to help accommodate schedules! The first one will be held on Monday\, March 14th 4:45-5:30pm prior to the Monday evening Spin class starting at 5:30pm. The other class will be held on Sunday\, March 20th 3:15-4:00pm right before the 4pm Spin class on Sunday! \nWhat You Will Learn:\n-How to safely & properly get set up on your bike from certified instructors\n-Become familiar with all of the riding & hand positions you will see in a Spin class\nLearn how to adjust your bike\, adjust your resistance\, and how to read your monitor\n-Learn the different heart rate zones\, how to check your heart rate\, and the different benefits of strength\, endurance\, and interval rides\n-Learn proper riding form & technique on your bike and Spin class safety\n-Take this opportunity to ask questions and get comfortable setting up your bike and hopping in any Spin class on our schedule! \nWeather you’re a regular Spin class attendee who wants to learn more & keep improving\, someone who has never stepped foot on a Spin bike but wants to know the ins & outs of Spinning and feel comfortable showing up to a class\, or a beginner still learning bike set up\, the different riding positions\, safety and how to check heart rate… this class will be great for everyone!! DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our Body Pump Basics form + technique class on Saturday\, January 22nd in the RFC gym! We’ll break down all of the exercises we do in Body Pump from 8:15-9am & we’ll start the full hour of Body Pump at our regular 9am Saturday time! This is a FREE class open to everyone! Invite a friend & come get comfortable with this awesome class! \nWho is this class for?\n-Anyone who has been wanting to give Body pump a try but is unsure of what to expect\, doesn’t feel they know how\, or is unsure if they are at the appropriate fitness level for this class (we will help you feel comfortable at whatever fitness level you’re at and familiarize you with how to safely execute the moves)\n-Anyone who comes to Body Pump regularly or has came a time or two but could use a refresher on form and some one-on-one from our certified Body Pump instructors on how to safely\, properly and efficiently execute the Body Pump moves\n– Anyone who comes to class regularly but would like to have their form and technique checked by a certified instructor\, ask questions\, learn how to progress\, and make sure they have proper form before adding additional weight \nIf any of these speak to you\, this class is PERFECT for you!! Don’t be shy\, this is GREAT for beginners and for our regular pumpers!! Come ask questions\, familiarize yourself with the moves\, practice\, learn what Body Pump is all about\, and feel confident in your ability to safely execute these moves and safely progress as you make Body Pump a regular part of your fitness routine! \nWhat is Body Pump??\nBody Pump is a high energy\, FUN class that uses the Les Mills Rep Effect proven to help strengthen and tone the large and small muscles groups of the Body! It is choreographed to awesome upbeat music that pushes you through this amazing workout!\nWe offer 30 minute Body Pump classes\, 40 minute\, 45 minute\, and 60 minute classes at the RFC 7x per week\, so you can pick what best fits your schedule that day! In our 60 minute class we start with a warm up\, a squat track\, chest\, back\, triceps\, biceps\, lunges\, shoulders & cool down! By the end we get 1000+ reps in and burn around 500 calories strength training!! \nHere is how it will work:\nWe will get started at 8:15am taking you through each Body Pump move we see in a regular 60 minute class. We will demonstrate and break down proper form. We’ll finish up with our regular Body Pump class starting at 9am with the warm up and we’ll finish up this great workout by 10am! One instructor will be teaching while the other will walk around and help with form & answer questions! \nThis is a GREAT opportunity to learn\, improve\, and feel comfortable with this class!
