Anyone who would like to create supportive space for queer people and celebrate queerness in Morris is welcome to attend this free community gathering!\nThis event is a casual\, open structured gathering. There is no strict time table\, and you may participate in any activities at your own pace.\nWe will have craft supplies\, yard games\, conversation starters\, a photo booth\, and a Sharing Space/Open Mic for you to enjoy with new & old friends.\nFrom 3PM – 4:30PM there will be a Sharing Space/Open Mic! Folks interested in sharing a poem\, song\, performance (drag!?)\, story\, creation\, or speech will be able to sign up starting at 2PM on June 21st. We suggest about 5 minutes per sign up slot. DESCRIPTION:Bread ‘N Bowls is right around the corner!  One of our most popular events!  Save the date:   \nMonday\, April 28th from 5:30 to 7p\nat the Morris Area Elementary School cafeteria \n Bread ‘N Bowls is an awareness-raising event focused on combating violence and poverty.  UMM’s office of Community Engagement and Morris Area art students and local artists donate ceramic bowls\, and area organizations and businesses provide soup\, bread\, and desserts.  \nA suggested donation of $15 to Someplace Safe\, the Stevens County Food Shelf\, or the Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance will get participants a meal and handmade bowl.   \nWe also are in need of volunteers for this fun\, highly attended event. SUMMARY:Park Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:Giving back to the community continues! Join the Office of Community Engagement as we visit 5 Morris City Parks to pick up trash and wipe down picnic tables where needed. The event will take place on Sunday\, April 27th from 1-4 PM.  \nWe will spend approximately 20-30 mins (or less in needs are minimal) at each park. We will visit them starting with Knjenstad on West 4th St\, second stop is Thedin off the Lyndale Ave Alley\, third stop is Wells located between Nevada Ave and Pacific Ave\, fourth stop is Green River located Elm St and Green River Rd\, and last stop East Side on East 7th St. \nThis project is outdoors and will be pushed back to first weekend in May (exact date TBD) if inclement weather occurs. Please dress for the weather that day.
