DESCRIPTION:Learn about Hmong food and food ways with Yia Vang\, owner and executive chef of the Union Hmong Kitchen and Vinai. Chef Vang has been nominated twice for a James Beard Award and been named EATERS “Chef of the Year.”  He has appeared on Netflix’s “Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend\,” as well as hosted Food Network’s “Stoked\,” the Emmy Nominated show “Relish” on PBS (Twins Cities Public Television)\, and the podcast “Hmonglish”\, where he speaks about how Hmong Americans navigate and create a third culture in the United States. SUMMARY:Breakfast for Scouting
DESCRIPTION:Scouts have a long-standing policy that any child can be a member regardless of financial income.  Scouting\, as anything\, requires expenses such as uniforms\, registration fees\, campout and summer camp fees.  To help raise much-needed funds for the Northern Lights Council Boy Scouts of America\, we are hosting our second annual Breakfast for Scouting. \nThis fundraising event will showcase and support local Cub Scout and Scouts BSA programs in and around the Alexandria\, MN area\, that include character development\, leadership training\, organizational skills building\, personal responsibility and integrity. \nThe funds raised from this event help offset the costs of providing character development programs\, camps\, trainings and much more to nearly 5\,000 youth in Northern Lights Council. Your contributions help us achieve our mission and provide youth with fun and adventurous opportunities in our community. \nIn addition to generating awareness\, the Breakfast for Scouting helps to finance our programming to support children and young adults in our community.
